Megan & John: Married

In the midst of the snow and cold, Megan and John had their wedding last Saturday. I know that most people would prefer clear, balmy weather, but there is definitely something to be said for a light dusting of snow just after your ceremony ends. The reception was at CityView, atop the Champaign Train Terminal. I ate more pasta than any person should ever consider, but was still able to keep up with everyone celebrating a great day with friends and family.

Here are a few:

Mandy & Mike: Engaged

Mandy, Mike and Maxwell came downtown for an engagement/family portrait session. I’m used to just taking pictures of couples, so having Maxwell there was a nice way to mix things up, not to mention that he’s just a fun guy to be around anyway. He definitely kept the mood light.

Erin & Joe: Married

If you were to look up “Autumn Wedding” on Wikipedia, it would probably redirect you to Erin and Joe’s wedding yesterday. The day was gorgeous, they were gorgeous and the Fall colors were gourd-eous. That’s a terrible pun, sorry.

Anyway, here are a few pics to prove it:

Jamie & Steve: Married

Jamie and Steve had a great Fall wedding on Saturday in Fisher, IL. You know you have lots of friends and family when the line to get seated at your wedding goes all the way down the hallway, down two flights of stairs and out the door into the parking lot. And even though the evening weather turned brisk, great food by L.A. Gourmet Catering and a hot dance party kept things nice and toasty.

Rachel & Paul: Married

If I had a tape measure on Saturday, I would have measured how high the corn was on Rachel’s parents’ farm. My guess is 9-10 feet. I always enjoy it when people come back to a comfortable place to celebrate something as important as a wedding. There’s just no substitute for that familiar feeling and being surrounded by people you love. Rachel, I hope that my pictures capture a portion of that happiness.

Here are a few that I enjoy:

Downtown Columbus, OH

My friend asked me to come to Columbus and capture some of the downtown scenes and buildings to hang up in her office. I’m sure I looked a bit funny walking around staring up at the skyline all the time, but it was fun for me.

Here’s a few:

Katie & Lance: Married

I had a great time photographing Katie and Lance’s wedding. We went to campus and got some great pictures, and then friends and family having a blast on the dance floor.

Here are a few:

Courtney & Mike: Married

Saturday started with Courtney and Mike sharing some quiet time in the basement of St. John’s church, shortly before heading upstairs to be married. At the end of the evening, they were on the dance floor with their friends and family having a wonderful time. That’s one of my favorite aspects of a wedding: the breadth and depth of experiences and emotions that happen over the course of a single day. I always feel privileged.

Here are some pics:

Carissa & Greg: Married

Everyone was just as happy as they could be on Saturday for Carissa and Greg’s wedding. The ceremony was at beautiful St. John’s on campus, then the Hilton for an energetic reception. Carissa was stunning, which is not surprising, and Greg got Champaign Fire Department to bring out their biggest truck for some cruising around campus. He’s either a really nice guy that people want to do nice things for, or his buddies at the station owe him some serious gambling debts. Probably the former.

Here are some pics:

Jenny & Aaron: Married

I had lots of fun photographing Jenny and Aaron’s wedding Saturday in Mattoon/Charleston. Once again, we were all on the look-out for rain, but it turned out to be simply beautiful weather. Everyone looked great and was so happy all day long. Makes my job pretty easy.
