Rachel & Paul: Engaged

I had such a great time taking pictures for Rachel and Paul. I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it: there is only one trick for getting great photos- get two happy people who are in love and press the button. These pics were taken at Mattis Park on a gorgeous Tuesday evening.

Here are a few:

Kelsey & Dan: Married

I don’t know how Kelsey does it. It’s 95 degrees outside and everyone (especially myself) is melting, but Kelsey just looks cool and fabulous. Maybe it was Megan’s make-up work, I don’t know. Anyway, after broiling in the sun everyone got together at The Refinery, which turned into quite a party.

Stacey & Colin: Married

Stacey and Colin had a small, intimate ceremony yesterday at Allerton Park. The weather was downright scary earlier in the day, but then became picture-perfect right before we started. If you don’t know Stacey and Colin, well, then I feel sorry for you because they are two of the coolest people I know. They also own Bentley’s Pub in downtown Champaign, my absolute favorite bar in town.

Ok, enough of that. Time for a few pics:

Jayna’s Birthday

My friend Jayna had her birthday party at Bentley’s last night and I wanted to make sure that she got some pictures to remember it by. We also had The Impalas playing, which was awesome, but not quite as awesome as the life-sized Justin Bieber cutout. My favorite Jayna quote of the night: “Greg, I know every person in this bar and they all came to see me. I don’t know if I deserve this.”

As Clint Eastwood said, “Deserve’s got nothing to do with it.”

Happy Birthday, Buddy.

Pics, or it didn’t happen:

Kelsey: Bridal Session

Kelsey and I were supposed to take these pictures last weekend, but the weather was so poor that we had to reschedule. Nature was much more cooperative this time.

Carissa & Greg: Engaged

Now I know why firefighters make sure that their trucks are always sparkling clean: you never know when you might want to shoot an engagement session at the station. Ok, so that’s not really the reason, but it worked out nonetheless for Carissa and Greg. We had free reign with all the trucks and equipment and Carissa was absolutely beaming. We topped it off with some relaxed pictures at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana.

Jessica & Dexter: Married (Champaign Wedding Photography)

I had the opportunity to do engagement pictures for Jessica and Dexter back in June, so I was excited to also photograph their wedding on Saturday. Everything was great, especially the reception, where everyone got out on the dance floor and was shaking what they’ve got.

Anne & Colin: Married (Champaign Wedding Photography)

After a few weeks off, I was back at it again, spending the day with Anne and Colin and their families and friends. The weather stunk, but we got some great photos at the Illini Union. Oh, and a reminder to Anne: Don’t forget to tell Bill Murray where you’re registered, so that he can get you those salad forks…

Halloween at Bentley’s

A bunch of crazy people (many of them my crazy friends) got all dressed up and came out to Bentley’s in downtown Champaign. I had my gear with me, so I took a few pictures:

Jenny & Aaron: Engaged

I know that the weather is getting colder, but I still love a cool, crisp, outdoor engagement session, especially when my subjects are as photogenic as Jenny and Aaron. We bounced around downtown Champaign for awhile and got some great pictures. I asked Jenny if she had ever done any modeling: she said no. I still think she has, but it must have happened in a parallel universe.
