Libby & Jesse: Married

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day. Not a cloud in the sky. I spent the day in Danville with Libby and Jesse and their closest friends and family. Libby might win the contest for Bride That Smiles the Most. I had to work hard just to get pictures where she didn’t have an ecstatic grin on her face. Tough job, I know.

The reception was at the wonderfully quaint Vermilion Place in downtown Danville. Like I said, it was a gorgeous day.

Special thanks to Laura, who took some of these photos.

Here’s a few that I like:

Caitlin & John: Married

I spent Saturday a few hours away in Kewanee, IL for Caitlin and John’s wedding. The weather was not very good at all early in the day, but by mid-afternoon it had cleared up nicely, though the ladies still couldn’t wear their heels on the soft, wet grass. No problems- I think bare feet make great pictures, too.

A few words of thanks:

First to my assistant photographer Laura, who took a few of the pics here.

Second, thanks to Cerno’s Restaurant for being very patient with me as I kept getting in their way and generally making their afternoon more difficult.

Ashley & Derek: Married

I spend time with a lot of grooms and groomsmen, but nothing quite like Derek’s party. Before the wedding, his friends were offering tips on how to pick up bridesmaids, and at the reception Derek even Rick-Rolled his own mother during their dance. Does Ashley mind all these shenanigans? Hardly. She spent part of the morning modeling her friend’s bra that was easily 10 sizes too large. Needless to say, I had fun all day.

I know, prove it with pics or it didn’t happen. Don’t forget to check out my website at www.FrasurePhotography.com

Frasure Photography Online Gallery

Lots of guests have approached me at various events wanting to know where they can see pictures from the day.

All of the edited images from a wedding or engagement session are posted to an online gallery. You can find the gallery at this link: http://frasurephotography.zenfolio.com

Simply scroll down and select the event that you want to view.

It usually takes between 2-3 weeks from the date of the event to get the images uploaded, so if you can’t find your event you might have to check back in a day or two. Anyone can also order professional-quality prints directly from the Zenfolio site. I work with Mpix, a subsidiary of Miller’s Lab, one of the best and most widely-used photo labs in the country. The prints will be mailed directly to you.

Jessica & Dexter: Engaged

Jessica and Dexter took a trip back to their old stomping grounds at the U of I for some engagement pictures. Later we went to the Arboretum to meet up with Dexter’s son, who used the Arboretum as stomping grounds of his own. Since I photograph lots of weddings, I’m no stranger to fast-paced action shots, but a two-year-old really tests the limits of my equipment. I’ve read somewhere that there’s no such thing as truly random, but after trying in vain to predict which direction a small child will go next, I remain unconvinced.

OK, too much talking, not enough pictures… And check out my website at www.FrasurePhotography.com

Christine & Aaron: Married

Saturday was another gorgeous day for a wedding. It was great to spend time with families who enjoyed just being together and sharing Christine and Aaron’s happiness. My job was easy; I tried to stay out of the way and let Christine’s wonderful smile do all the work.

Jenny & Will: Married

One of the best parts of photographing weddings is the opportunity to meet interesting people, and Will and Jenny’s wedding on Saturday was no exception. As Will is trying to figure out which tuxedo he’s supposed to be wearing, he’s also discussing the pros and cons of genetically-modified food crops. Only later did I realize that everyone else already knew this about Will: he will talk about anything at anytime to anyone.

The wedding was beautiful. Beautiful weather, beautiful St. John’s church on campus, and two people beautifully in love with each other. I hope that my pictures were able to capture even some of this beauty. Other guests must have recognized it too, because I’ve never seen so many cameras in one place.

Bethany and Jason: Engaged

I met Bethany and Jason out at Ewing Park in Bloomington, IL, where the great weather and recent rain made the park so lush and vibrant. Jason also brought his motorcycle to the session and it was great to get some pictures that included something both Jason and Bethany enjoy. I love it when people bring things that are important to them to an engagement session.

The way Bethany and Jason were around each other got me thinking that if I ever write a book about photography, it will be very short: Find Happy People. Take Their Picture.

Kailin & Ray: Married

I had the pleasure to photograph Kailin and Ray’s wedding this past Saturday. Even as an outside observer, I heard many people say how Ray and Kailin were perfect for each other.

Baby Shower

Those of you familiar with Farren’s restaurant know that Carolyn’s daughter, Kate, is expecting a baby boy in the near future. So Carolyn threw a baby shower at Farren’s over the weekend and I was asked to take some candids. Everyone had a blast and the food was great.
